The King Of Pop

I would like to take a moment to talk about in my opinion the greatest singer, songwriter and entertainer the world has ever known. His name is Michal Jackson.

It is this Month August Michael would be celebrating his 53rd birthday. I remember the first time I hear a Michael Jackson record was "off The Wall" I also remember how attached to the "groove" of the music. This mind you WAY before MTV. I remember how much more delighted I was when I finally got to see him dance in the Billie Jean video.

When I first saw him do the Moonwalk I was STUNNED! This is even before we even knew what to call it. Soon after everyone one I knew was trying to dance like him (including me). As the years have gone by, not only his music but his dancing has become more and more innovative. His singing style of "vocal Hiccup" made him an innovator vocally. His choreography is literally flawless and nothing short of amazing to watch. Together with his ability to write music and lyrics make him a true artist. And as the years have gone by I have grown to be more and more a fan of everything he does.

Now when it comes to the music he has produced over the years its hard to imaging what he has accomplished. Selling over 750 million records worldwide setting a Guinness world record. It has also been estimated that no one will ever come close to reaching that number.

As a DJ a get a lot of requests for MJ. Typically people say Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Beat it or Billie Jean. So what I thought I would do is introduce you to some of my all time favorite Michael Jackson songs. I guess this is my way of broadening peoples horizons about his music. So do yourself a favor. Pick up a Michael Jackson CD. Listen to the music that has not only inspired me but millions around the word. Once you do, you will then realize just how good he was. We love you Michael, you will be missed!

LED Up Lights

Its truly amazing what a little up light can do to a venue. Back in the day, it was not a practice widely used for the simple fact that the fixtures got really hot, they used a lot of power and the colors weren't so great unless you were doing either red, blue or green. Now that we have LED (Light Emitting Diode) We are able to create amazing colors, with a low power consumption, almost no heat its pretty amazing how far technology has come. So now we are really enhancing a venue with color and making an event look amazing. Just thought I would share.

Jim And Dana

Ok, I have to be totally honest. I feel so fortunate to have had some really great clients over the years. I feel like what I am being asked to be involved in puts me a little closer that just a contractor doing a job. I mean, I am right in the middle of this. I am essentially being asked to be part or something very special. I am a part of a couple history for the rest of their lives, and that is a powerful position. To me, my clients are number one and I will do my best to ensure that they have the most awesome and memorable time they can have. Its also pretty awesome when after everything is said and done, that I can become friend with some pretty amazing people.

I had one such encounter with a couple from Arizona. Very genuine, sweet and full or energy. I could tell when I first met Jim, that they were the kind of clients I would come to really enjoy. Dana was sick that first day. so she didn't come to the meeting. However, we had already connected over the phone before hand and during the planning process, so I got a good feel for the kind of person she is. All together, we had a very short time together, but the memories will last a life time.

So I have now come to say that in my 14 years doing this for a career, they have sent me by far most awesome thank you card I have ever received. Basically I wanted to share that with everyone. They not only wrote something very complimentary and nice, but they took the time to draw a picture for me. WOW! That totally made it all the more special.

One of the great things about my job is meeting so many awesome people. I have developed so many relationships with such great people. I have spent quality time with people before and after the wedding and I must say that I love it. Its like having extended family. I don't think people quite realize how their connection impacts me. Once my clients now my friends I say. I am a very fortunate to have met the people I have and so honored to share some great times with these people.
