Disney Weddings

DISNEY WEDDINGS! I love performing them. From the ceremony to the reception, its always amazing!. As a DJ, its more than just playing music. Its also being creative. Taking the into consideration, location, time of the year, clients and overall theme of the wedding play heavily into creating an event that is truly amazing. For the most part, people want something special. What bride and groom go into this saying "I want to do what everyone else does"? And as a professional DJ and event planner, its my responsibility to be the well of knowledge and ideas to present a couple. Giving plenty of stimulus to inspire my clients to think and do things on a another level. I have always said that the root of the tree has to grow the same, but the branches can Flourish and do something amazing! We do this in overall design of the event but also very important in the music selections. The music should captivate, make people smile, and put them in another state of consciousness. Kind of like, when Christmas rolls around. Its not just the compassion of men and women to be giving this time of year for the sake of giving. I strongly believe music brings out the emotion. And Christmas music has a very special quality within the notes. It is truly a design that makes people feel that love and warmth. To me, this is how important the music at a wedding should be. I also take a particular interest in the music myself personally.

Now I have been a fan of Disney since I was young kid. I love the concept, the people, the park and of course the music. So I love when I get clients that have an open mind and are wanting to do something amazing for their Disney wedding. It then furthers the creativity I have to think of things that my clients may not be thinking about and present them something that will be awesome! For Example, my clients Jared And Nerissa being both Disney fans had some pretty great ideas going into this. They were also wanting me to produce music for the cocktail time in addition to the reception. However, the reception site was NOT in the hotel. They decided to have it on a private section of lawn down from the rose court garden ceremony site. A beautiful stretch of grass and trees referred to as the adventure lawn.I felt because of the tropical atmosphere at this location that music along the Aventure Land theme would be appropriate. I just so happen to have the actual Disney music for the attraction, along with original narrations by Walt Disney for that classic old school Disney feel. My clients were ecstatic about it and gave me the green light. After that, I played some other tropical selections of a more modern type. Recreations of such songs like, kiss the girl and Bare Necessities by artists like Ziggy Marly and Matisyahu were next. I could just see the guests moving from side to side as they listened to the music. When I saw that I know that what I was wanting to achieve was created. Precisely the response I wanted I was getting. The only downside was my clients were still off taking pictures and not able to enjoy the music.

So going into 2012 and with more Disney Brides and Grooms to work with I am so excited. I look forward to the time I spend not only planning with my clients but performing for them as well. Plus having people inspire me to be the creative DJ that I am. Thank you Jared and Nerissa for making me a part of your special day and believing in me!

Till next time... DJ Pat (done for today)
